In this unit, you learn about macronutrients: protein, carbohydrates, and fats. Many people have suggested that focusing on one macronutrient at the expense of others would be a superior diet. Thus, we have high-protein diets, high-carbohydrate diets, and high-fat diets. On the flip side, we also have low fat-diets, low-carb diets, and so on. In addition to these, there are other versions such as a gluten-free diet (which is necessary for those truly allergic to wheat), a vegan diet, a raw food diet, and even a blood type diet that is based on particular blood types. Which type of diet do you prefer? Why? Why do you not like the other diets?


This unit addresses some of the core components of a business, and large businesses require many professionals for each component to operate properly. For this discussion, let’s talk about these components in terms of the professionals and their individual expertise. Specifically, which one of the core components of a business would you choose to be your area of expertise, and why?


Briefly describe the landscape you currently live in or where you were born. What is distinct about it in terms of vegetation, animal life, and climate? How have human activities changed your landscape over time? Give examples.



Share a time when you have worked with someone from a different societal cluster. If you have not had the opportunity to do so, discuss how you believe that this interaction might materialize if you are in the position of leadership over this person.
